Enlarge photos and increase image resolution without losing quality

Upload the image, choose the “Enlarge” task and a factor of ×2, ×3 or ×4 — the neural network rebuilds edges and texture instead of simply stretching pixels. Download the result as PNG, JPG or WebP, free and without watermarks.

Ordinary enlargement (bicubic or Lanczos) just smears the pixels you already have, which is why the picture ends up soft and mushy. A neural network has been trained to rebuild contours and texture, so lines stay crisp even at four times the size.

Upscaling helps when a shot is small but sharp: screenshots, artwork, avatars, old scans, 640×480 frames. If the photo is blurred, out of focus or already large and sharp, enlarging it only adds file size — and PixScale warns you about that right after upload.

For print, work from 300 DPI: an A4 sheet is roughly 2480×3508 pixels and A3 is 3508×4961. Set the dimensions you need and save the result as PNG so JPEG artefacts do not show up on paper.

Open the “Improve quality” task: “Remove noise” takes out grain, “Remove JPEG artefacts” clears the blocks left by compression, and “Restore detail” pulls back fine texture with AI. If the pixelation came from stretching a small picture, it is better to go back to the original and upscale it ×2.

Yes — old scans are one of the best cases: the detail is there, there simply are not many pixels. Scan the print as large as you can, then enlarge ×2 or ×4 and remove noise if needed.

Choose the “Resize” task and set the width and height, a percentage of the original, or an aspect ratio. With the lock enabled, the second side is calculated automatically so the picture does not get squashed.

Turn on the “On my computer” switch: your browser runs the upscaling on the graphics card through WebGPU, or on the processor if there is no GPU support. The image is never uploaded anywhere, and the model is downloaded once and stays in the cache.

Guest files are removed from the server automatically after a few hours, and files from signed-in users after two weeks; they are only reachable through your private link. If you would rather not upload the file at all, switch processing to your own computer — then the image never leaves your browser.

The service is free, there are no watermarks and no sign-up is required. An account is only needed if you want results kept longer and listed under “My files”.

A ×4 enlargement contains sixteen times as many pixels, so the growth in size is only natural. To keep the file compact, choose JPG or WebP as the output and drop the quality to 85–90 — the difference is barely visible.
